The Appeals Service provides administrative support to the independent tribunals by hearing appeals for a number of areas.
The Appeals Service provides administrative support to the independent tribunals set up by legislation to hear appeals against decisions made by the Decision Makers for:
- Social Security benefits
- Child Maintenance Service (CMS)
- His Majesty’s Revenue & Customs (HMRC)
- Northern Ireland Housing Executive (NIHE)
- Land & Property Services (LPS)
The Appeals Service is responsible for arranging the date, place and time of the hearings and issuing the relevant papers connected with the appeal to the parties concerned.
