The Northern Ireland Prison Service (NIPS) is currently revising its strategic approach to strengthening family relations, the aim of which is to improve outcomes for people in our care and their families.
NIPS have now published the response and the next steps to Prisons 2020. The Next Steps document contain a series of strategic commitments which explain the outcomes we want to deliver over the next three years.
Prisons 2020 Delivery Plans and Reports
The Prison Service has published an action plan that will address all the recommendations from the report.
The strategy sets out an agreed understanding of desistance from crime and is supported by an action plan to embed desistance theory in justice policy and practice.
The Framework Document sets out the arrangements for the governance, accountability, financing, staffing and operation of the Northern Ireland Prison Service.
