FSNI in conjunction with the DfE Small Business Research Initiative (SBRI) is seeking suppliers to partner them to develop a solution for ‘The Rapid Visualisation and Identification of Body Fluids on a range of substrates in a forensic environment'.

The SBRI programme delivered through the Department for Economy enables the public sector to tap into new ideas and technologies and speed up their adoption. SBRI helps government departments connect with innovative businesses to solve the tough challenges facing the public sector.

FSNI took part in the first phase of the SBRI Programme and was awarded funding in July 2019 to work with up to four suppliers to develop innovative techniques/ solutions to improve the rapid visualisation and identification of body fluids on a range of substrates within a forensic science environment.

The tender process closed in August 2019 and as a result two businesses were successful and are taking forward the proof of concept.
