    The eligibility and other requirements for appointment as a Notary Public in Northern Ireland are prescribed in Order 107, Rule 9 of the Rules of the Court of Judicature (NI) 1980 as set out in the document below. A notary public must be a practising solicitor of at least six years standing.Court of Judicature Rules are made under section 55A of the Judicature (Northern Ireland) Act 1978 by the Court of Judicature Rules Committee (chaired by the Lady Chief Justice), subject to being allowed by the Department.
