Codes of practice issued under Proceeds of Crime act 2002 published 2024

Draft Codes of Practice issued under the Proceeds of Crime Act 2002 (April 2024) were published following consultation (15 February 2024 to 10 April 2024) to provide interim guidance on new cryptoasset provisions.

Following consultation, the three draft codes were approved by the Northern Ireland Assembly under Statutory Rule Northern Ireland “The Proceeds of Crime Act 2002 (Search, Recovery of Cryptoassets and Investigations: Codes of Practice) Order (Northern Ireland) 2024” (S.R. 2024 No. 139) with a coming into operation date of 17 July 2024. Two further codes published in June 2021 remain in place (Recovery of cash and listed assets).
