    Pre-Action Protocol for the Resolution of Claims Under the Inheritance (provision for Family and Dependents) (Northern Ireland) Order 1979Date Issued: 12 September 2005.

    This Protocol is intended to apply to claims under the 1979 Order. It has two aims:

    (a) To encourage the resolution of disputes without recourse to hostile litigation, and

    (b) Where litigation is unavoidable to ensure that it is simplified as far as possible by maximising the scope for the exchange of relevant information before the litigation process has commenced.
