Domestic Homicide Reviews

Consultation opened on 04 July 2018. Closing date 28 September 2018.

The Department of Justice publicly consulted on a proposed model for the introduction of Domestic Homicide Reviews in Northern Ireland, from 4 July 2018 to 28 September 2018 . A summary of responses to the consultation is available below.

Consultation description

Domestic Homicide Reviews are intended to seek out and share opportunities for learning from the tragic circumstances where an individual (aged 16 and over) has been killed as a result of domestic violence and abuse.   The reviews will identify what worked well and inform the development of practice to improve services, ultimately with a view to preventing domestic violence and abuse and domestic homicide happening in the future.

We are keen to hear your views and receive information which will help us in shaping and finalising the model for Domestic Homicide Reviews in Northern Ireland.

Further information on responses can be viewed at Justice-NI/publications
