Victims and Witnesses of Crime Strategy 2026-2032 and two year Action Plan

The Department of Justice has published a new strategy, performance framework and action plan for improving the Criminal Justice experience for all Victims and Witnesses of Crime.

Our vision is that through this strategy we will increase confidence in the justice system by empowering and supporting all victims and witnesses using a trauma-informed approach.

Our Mission Statement sets out how we aim to achieve this vision, by providing victims and witnesses, including children, young people and vulnerable users, with tailored support and effective communication, in a transparent way, ensuring compliance with Charter rights.
