Child Protection is a high priority for the Northern Ireland Prison Service(NIPS). The Child Protection Policy and Procedures have been designed to promote the well-being and protection of all children whether visiting prison establishments and Visitor Centres or as a baby continuing to be cared for by a mother in prison, or as a juvenile being detained.
