Making a Community Impact Statement

When a case goes to court and a person pleads guilty or has been found guilty a Community Impact Statement (CIS) allows a community to say how the crime has affected or continues to affect it. It is intended to be used for a critical incident which has a significant impact on the community, as an indirect victim, and damages public confidence.
