Department of Justice and Department of Communities update on responses to the Anti-Social Behaviour Consultation

The Department of justice (DoJ) and the Department of Communities (DfC) update on responses to the Joint Public Consultation on potential amendments to the legislative framework aimed at ensuring the relevant authorities have effective and proportionate powers in place to deal with Anti- Social Behaviour (ASB).
The Consultation considered
• ASBOs Anti -Social Behaviour Orders
• Drinking in Public ( DoJ and DfC)
• Injunctions against Anti- Social Behaviour (DfC);and
• Absolute Grounds for Possession Social Housing (DfC)
The consultation feedback indicated that further work was necessary, and this is being progressed by both DoJ and DfC. Finalisation of Policy and subsequent legislative proposals following this consultation will require ministerial approval and work is ongoing by both Departments . The consultation is now closed .
