Building Strong Foundations and Empowering Change: The Executive’s Strategic Framework on Reducing Offending and Reoffending
Date published:
The Northern Ireland Executive has published an Interim Strategic Framework and Delivery Plan to Reduce Offending and Reoffending 2026–27.
The Framework sets out a cross-government approach to supporting shared outcomes in prevention, health, housing, education and employability, aligning existing and planned activity and investment across six Executive departments: the Department for Communities, the Department for the Economy, the Department of Education, the Executive Office, the Department of Health and the Department of Justice.
Operational during 2026–27, the interim Framework provides a bridge to the Executive’s new longer-term Strategy to Reduce Offending and Reoffending which is currently under-development. The new cross-Executive Strategy is expected in late 2027.
