Appointment of Chairperson and Board Members to Northern Ireland Police Fund

Justice Minister David Ford has launched a recruitment competition to appoint a new Chairperson and two Board Members of the Northern Ireland Police Fund.

The closing date for this competition has been extended until Friday 26 February 2016.

Details

The NIPF provides care and financial assistance to police officers and ex-officers, and their families, who have been injured or disabled as a direct result of terrorism.

Board Members are appointed on a fixed term of four years with the possibility of reappointment for a further period of four years.  This appointment is made in line with the Code of Practice issued by the Commissioner for Public Appointments.

The posts will be available from April 2016 for a term of four years with the possibility of re-appointment for a second term.  The post of Chairperson is remunerated at £6,000 per annum.  Board Members are not remunerated.  The NIPF may, with the approval of the DOJ, pay travel and subsistence allowances as NIPF may determine.
