Police Rehabilitation and Retraining Trust Chairperson and Board members recruitment competition launched

The Department of Justice has launched a recruitment competition to appoint a Chairperson and three Board members to the Police Rehabilitation and Retraining Trust (PRRT).
The PRRT provides psychological therapy, physiotherapy, coaching and development, training and education programmes to support police officers who are planning to retire, or who have already retired from the PSNI, or the Royal Ulster Constabulary GC.
The Chairperson and six Board members are responsible for the oversight, control and strategic direction of PRRT. Governance, at Board level, is delivered through Board meetings and Audit and Risk Committee meetings.

3. The vacant posts will be available in April 2019.
4. The time commitment required for the position of Chairperson is 24 days per annum, normally two days per month, including attendance at a minimum of seven Board meetings per year. The remuneration is £10,000 per annum.
5. The time commitment required for Board members is 12 days per annum, normally one day per month, including attendance at a minimum of seven Board meetings and four committee meetings per year. The remuneration is £5,000 per annum.
6. Due to the transition to a system of staggered appointments, the appointment of the Chairperson and one Board member will be for a four year term, and the other two Board members will be appointed for a three year term.
7. The PRRT is an executive Non-Departmental Public Body of the Department of Justice. Delivery of Board Policy and the operational management of PRRT is the responsibility of the Chief Executive (Accounting Officer) who reports directly to the Chairperson and Board.
8. Candidates must meet the following essential criteria: Building Effective Relationships; Performance Oversight and Financial Understanding; Communication and Negotiation Skills; and Strategic Thinking. In addition, applicants for the Chairperson position must also meet a Leadership criterion.
