Appointment of Chairperson and Board Members to Northern Ireland Police Fund

Date published: 28 January 2016

Justice Minister David Ford has launched a recruitment competition to appoint a new Chairperson and two Board Members of the Northern Ireland Police Fund.

The NIPF provides care and financial assistance to police officers and ex-officers, and their families, who have been injured or disabled as a direct result of terrorism.

Board Members are appointed on a fixed term of four years with the possibility of reappointment for a further period of four years.  This appointment is made in line with the Code of Practice issued by the Commissioner for Public Appointments.

David Ford said:  “The Fund’s role extends widely to cover all aspects of the care of police officers and former officers in Northern Ireland, and their families, who have been directly affected by terrorist violence”.

“I would encourage anyone who has an interest in policing and the role of the Fund, and who believes they have the necessary skills and experience, to apply.”

The deadline for receipt of applications is 16:00 hours on Tuesday 16 February 2016.
