The Department of Justice is now inviting applications for Special Educational Needs and Disability Tribunal (SENDIST) Lay Members

It is intended to make up to nine appointments.
SENDIST considers parents’ appeals against the decisions of the Education Authority about children’s special educational needs, where the parents cannot reach agreement with the Education Authority. It also deals with claims of disability discrimination in relation to children at school.
The Candidate Information Booklet contains details about the recruitment scheme and the Person Specification which sets out the necessary skills, attributes, behaviours, and aspects of effectiveness against which applicants will be assessed.
The salary, which is currently under review, is £204.67 per day. The deadline for applications is Friday 10 January 2025.
