Justice Minister Naomi Long has appointed James Corrigan as Acting Chief Inspector of the Criminal Justice Inspection for Northern Ireland effective from today, 26 June.
Justice Minister Naomi Long has appointed James Corrigan as Acting Chief Inspector of the Criminal Justice Inspection for Northern Ireland effective from today, 26 June.
Mr Corrigan replaces Jacqui Durkin, who resigned to take up the post of Police Ombudsman for Northern Ireland.
Mr Corrigan was previously Deputy Chief Inspector of Criminal Justice. His appointment as Acting Chief Inspector will be for a period of up to 12 months. A public appointments process to appoint a new Chief Inspector of Criminal Justice will commence shortly.
Minister Long said: “I am pleased that James has agreed to undertake the role of Chief Inspector until the public appointments process is concluded. He will bring continuity and a wealth of knowledge to the post.”
Mr Corrigan has no other public appointments.
