    Consultation description

This consultation document sets out the background to the existing Criminal Damage and Criminal Injury Compensation Schemes. It explains why reform is necessary and the rationale behind the proposals. The consultation is to seek views from all interested groups and individuals on the proposals to reform the existing Schemes. We would particularly like to receive comments from those who may have been a victim of criminal damage or a victim of a violent crime. It would be helpful if representative groups in responding could give an overview of the people, organisations and numbers that they represent when they respond.
