    Consultation description

The public consultation on proposals to amend firearm licensing has been withdrawn.

The Minister wishes to acknowledge and thank those that have responded to the consultation to date, however, following recent advice from officials, and having considered feedback from stakeholders and consultees, the Minister has concluded that it is not appropriate to proceed with the consultation in its current form.

The Department acknowledges the concerns raised and will take time to carefully consider the issues.  As part of this process, the Department intends to engage with key stakeholders to inform the development of future proposals prior to re-consultation.
