    Consultation description

The Police Pensions Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2015 set out how police pensions are managed, funded, and delivered.  From time to time, amendments are required to ensure the scheme remains fair, up to date, and operating effectively.  The proposed changes aim to protect the integrity of the scheme and ensure the interests of its members are maintained.

The consultation is particularly relevant to those who represent police officers, police employers, and members of the police pension scheme.  We welcome your views on the proposed changes to help ensure that the final regulations and associated policies are informed by a clear understanding of how these proposed amendments may impact scheme members.

We would encourage you to respond using the ‘Respond online’ button below, which will take you to the Citizen Space website.

The consultation will run for a period of 12 weeks from Monday 6 July 2026 until Friday 2 October 2026.  All responses should be submitted by 11pm on Friday 2 October 2026.
