  • LSANI guidance - Children Order public law pre-proceedings meetings

    Topics:
    • Legal aid,
    • Legal profession

    Date published: 23 February 2020

LSANI guidance on Children Order public law pre-proceedings meetings will be of interest to civil and family practitioners who are instructed by clients who are applying for legal aid funding to provide advice regarding the Letter Before Proceedings (LBP) and for all aspects of preparation instruction and attendance at the Pre-Proceedings Meeting (PPM).

With effect from 11 March 2019, all such applications should be made to Advice and Assistance and not to Representation Lower Courts as has been the practice previously. If the matter is not resolved by the LBP and the PPM and proceedings are issued by the Trust, then an application for Representation Lower Courts for funding for such proceedings must be submitted.
