The Department of Justice has appointed Liam Kelly and reappointed Mark Lindsay as Board Members of the Police Rehabilitation and Retraining Trust (PRRT).
Mr Kelly and Mr Lindsay are both appointed as the statutory nominees of the Police Federation for Northern Ireland.

PRRT is an Executive Non-Departmental Public Body (NDPB) of the Department of Justice. It provides psychological therapies, physiotherapy, coaching and development, training and education programmes (in accordance with assessed needs) to support: police officers retiring from the Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI), or the Royal Ulster Constabulary GC (RUC GC); and other Justice partners.

1. The PRRT Board comprises a Chairperson and six Directors. One of the Board members is nominated by the Chief Constable of the Police Service of Northern Ireland and two are nominated by the Police Federation for Northern Ireland, subject to the approval of the Department.
2. The procedure for the appointment of Board members is compliant with the Commissioner for Public Appointments Northern Ireland (CPANI) Code of Practice. The appointments are made by the Department of Justice taking account of its statutory duty under the Police Rehabilitation and Retraining Trust Regulations 2014.
3. The tenure for the Board members will commence on 28 May 2019 and end on 27 May 2023.
4. These posts do not attract remuneration.
5. The appointment of Board Members is made on merit and political activity plays no part in the selection process. However, the Commissioner for Public Appointments for Northern Ireland requires the political activity of appointees to be published. Details of the declaration in relation to political activity are included below.

Liam Kelly
Liam Kelly has 24 years policing experience. After graduating with an Honours Degree in Law he joined the Royal Ulster Constabulary George Cross in 1994. He has held the rank of Inspector since 2007.
His current roles include the following:
- Director of the RUCGG-PSNI Benevolent Fund Charity;
- Secretary of the PFNI Central Committee and Business, Finance Pay and Pensions Executive Sub Committee;
- Chairman and Director of the Board of Trustees for the Police Treatment Centres and St Georges Police Children Trust charities;
- PFNI representative on the Police Advisory Group for Northern Ireland; and
- PFNI Equality and Diversity lead.

Mark Lindsay
Mark Lindsay is Chairman of the Police Federation for Northern Ireland (PFNI). Mark joined the Royal Ulster Constabulary in 1987.
His current roles include the following:

- Chair of the Board of Trustees of the RUC GC - PSNI Benevolent Fund
- Chair of the Police Care UK
- Trustee/Director of the Police Rehabilitation & Retraining Trust
