    Circular LSA 06-17 – Universal credit draws practitioners attention to Chapter 10 of Part 3 of The Universal Credit (Consequential, Supplementary, Incidental and Miscellaneous Provisions) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2016. 

    Which makes amendments to regulation 5 Individuals in receipt of certain benefits, allowances etc and regulation 30 Disregard from capital – income support of the Civil Legal Services (Financial) Regulations (NI) 2015. These amendments will become operational on 27 September 2017, being the date Universal Credit will be introduced in Northern Ireland and the effect of these changes is to make Universal Credit a passport benefit.
