This section provides ad-hoc survey reports that have been completed for the Department via the Northern Ireland Life and Times Survey or the Northern Ireland Omnibus Survey. These surveys attempt to capture the views of the Northern Ireland population in relation to a range of justice issues.

Northern Ireland Life and Times Survey

The NILTS was launched in October 1998 as a resource for everyone interested in the social attitudes of people living in Northern Ireland.  Set up by Queen's University Belfast and Ulster University and run every year, the survey aims to put on record the attitudes, values and beliefs of the people in Northern Ireland on a wide range of social policy issues.

The Northern Ireland Omnibus Survey

The Northern Ireland Omnibus Survey is conducted several times each year by the Central Survey Unit of the Northern Ireland Statistics and Research Agency and is designed to provide a snapshot of the behaviour, lifestyle and views of a representative sample of people in Northern Ireland.

As of 2018 the Northern Ireland Omnibus Survey has been cancelled indefinitely
